Today, acclaimed Australian electronic producer Golden Features (AKA Tom Stell) returns with his second single of the year ‘Vigil’, out now via Foreign Family Collective / Warner Music Australia.

A dark and meddlesome addition to Golden Features’ catalog, ‘Vigil’ is riddled with fluttering percussive accents, ominous vocals, and thumping basslines. Weaving his tale of sleep deprivation throughout, Golden Features continues to amaze with his unique ability to turn his personal torment into a mesmerizing and relatable earworm.

Regarding the track, Golden Features said, “‘Vigil’ is about the point of diminishing returns. The sound of birds begging you to go to bed, desperately trying to sleep when your brain won’t allow it. It's for anybody who’s managed to escape the kick-on only to be left alone in a silent room with nothing but head-noise.”

A masterful storyteller in both audio and visual mediums, Golden Features has released ‘Vigil’ with an accompanying music video. Depicting the same character from his previous ‘Touch’ music video, ‘Vigil’ explores creative expression through movement and dance. Describing the music video, Golden Features said, “The ‘Vigil’ video starts where the Touch video ends. It’s about trying to stay sane and navigate the head noise. I wanted to capture the moment after the afterparty when the last person has left and you're alone with nothing but your thoughts.”

‘Vigil’ arrives following his latest single ‘Touch’ featuring Rromarin. Released amidst his headline North American tour, ‘Vigil’ marks Golden Features second solo release since his 2018 debut album SECT and the launch of 2020’s collaborative project BRONSON with ODESZA.

Golden Features has turned out to be an apt name for the artist born Tom Stell. It’s a nod to the gold mask he wears while performing, but the Australian electronic producer has had a literal golden run since bursting onto the scene in 2014 with two platinum and six gold ARIA certifications for his tracks, 275+ million global streams for his music, and an acclaimed and beloved 2018 debut album SECT (#1 iTunes, Triple J’s Feature Album). Stell set out on an accompanying tour that included slots at major US festivals including Coachella Ultra Music Festival, and formed the BRONSON project and self-titled album in 2020 with stadium-conquering duo ODESZA.
